Society is defined as a group of people sharing the same customs, laws, et cetera. (Oxford Learner’s Dictionary, 2026) Humans on their own as humans in a group both have their desires that give way for the collective. Humans have their basal desires: food and safety. The group allows for trade and safety to be fulfilled. We are naturally very economical and efficient. So that I know I can produce on my own more than for myself. I can in so doing receive something else of equal value. Because impressively enough our effort does not equal our reward. One farmer can feed a city. One novelist can entertain the planet. Now it’s not always that drastic. But the core of society is that of bulk and that of collaborative demand. That is how trade is effective. In other words society is intrinsically capitalistic and driven by ‘economical’ gain.
